Of all the movies that have drawn me in, I’ve never had an experience like this. Not only did this movie pull all manner of emotions out of me, but it placed me right smack dab in the center of Isabel’s plight as she grappled with loss, discovery, and responsibility. Though I can be a cry baby often times in movies, this was not a tear jerker for me; however, it most certainly leveraged my humanity to allow me to, not only connect with the movie and characters, but to become one with them and their individual and collective plight. The movie transcends the usual boxes of race relations, sexual orientation, ageism, and even cultural competency while sending you on a journey to understand an age-old pathology that envelopes all these human experiences…however the movie or the message is not bound by any of them. Origin is a DEFINITE DEFINITE MUST-SEE for all of us who share the universal experience called Human Being!!!
