I recently watched the movie “The Book of Clarence,” and as I was watching, there were points in the movie when my entire body would react as though it was being overtaken with emotion; some of which culminated with tears. In a brief moment of self-reflection and introspection, I researched this phenomena. What I realized is that this experience was a direct response to the level of truth I was witnessing. Taking it a step further, (without giving away too much of the movie) the man portraying Jesus was brilliant in mimicing the level of power and authority that I imagine Jesus carried as he journeyed through Jerusalem performing various miracles.
We are all individual expressions of God. As such, we are formed through love and truth as love and truth. When we are open to it, our bodies have vsceral reactions to the presence of truth. This in-the-moment realization explains the overwhelming sense of emotion that came over me as I watched Jesus, the epitome of TRUTH, call upon his power to heal, help, and set free. It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “Truth to Power.”
And so it is…
