The Choice to Be
There are two perspectives from which to think about our existence as it pertains to choice: (1) humanistic (2) and spiritual.
The human side to our existence is finite, it is also something that we choose from moment to moment as we traverse our individual journeys while here on this earthly plane. This aspect of who we are is most often viewed as separate from God and thus wrought with all of the consequences of that mindset . . . such as fear, loss, illness, and a host of other undesired phenomena which are all based in falsehood. The extreme of this choice would be to end our human existence by way of perceived death (which is really just a transition from the physical realm back to the spiritual). However, we can certainly choose truth, and in doing so we acknowledge our oneness with God; this oneness results in choosing love, abundance, wholeness and all of the other rewards that come with said choice . . . in a phrase “abundant life”.
The spiritual aspect of our existence is one in which we do not have a choice. This aspect of our being is eternal and infinite, which means that we can never choose for this to not be the case. God established this at the onset of our very creation; it is the part of God that we are that can never die or be destroyed.
Let us remember that God is Love, so if we choose to be who we truly are Love would be it. As we choose to be Love, then we, not only choose abundant life, but we also choose to further strengthen our eternal connection to God and to each other. And so it is…
