The Paved Way
I was having a conversation with an associate yesterday and we got on the subject of direction. We talked about how we create our own paths which are not always satisfactory, and how things come out much differently when we allow God to direct us. As we progress through life, we often leave it up to our societal conditioning, familial rearing and false sense of reality as vices that dictate our choices and actions. These choices and actions certainly take us down a specific path…this path may be one in which we prefer or not. However, there is an alternative that will ensure that we are on the right path to, not only achieve our destiny, but also to live our best lives…this path is absolute in providing the best life experience.
The alternative is to open our hearts, minds and spirits to the still, small voice of God, which will definitely direct our paths if we listen and take heed to that voice. The road that God paves for us will always be the most beneficial, blessed, and benevolent way to go. Whichever road we choose will inevitably come with challenges; however, the challenges that exist on the road that God paves have a specific purpose of growing and strengthening us…guaranteed, while the roads we pave for ourselves may or may not provide that same benefit.
The ways in which we can ensure that the choices we make are God-directed are:
- With every decision, stop and pay very close attention to the deepest feelings around the decision. God often speaks to us through our feelings (not emotions, which are conditional responses), which is one of the best ways to communicate.
- Because we are all connected, God may use people, things and/or situations to provide the answers we need to make the right choices.
- This goes without saying, but we can remain in constant, open and honest communication with God through prayer, meditation, worship and praise. As we stay in contact we, at any given moment, will be clear as to what God is leading us to do.
This is the truth. And so it is…
Namaste,
